Through our moves and growing herd we have gathered a fantastic group of riders who share our values. Along with them we have created a supportive community focused on positive learning experiences in a serene environment.
Our Dream Farm
Originally operating out of a personal 4 stall barn in Ellicott City, our business began leasing neighboring property with 10 stalls in 2020, then moved the entire operation to Springhill Stables in 2021 while we planned our permanent home. As we continue to grow, it is important to us that we always maintain the "small barn" feel of the early days of Clover Luck.
Where we came from.
We found our dream property fairly early on in 2021, but like many business transactions, it took us some time to get to the finish line! We ecstatically settled on 33+ gorgeous acres in Ellicott City in December 2021, and moved our herd to their forever home in late February 2022. We know by the amount of naps that the horses take in a day that they love it here as much as we do. Nothing beats waking up every day and looking out the window to see the happy herd.
Bringing our horses home.
Stephanie Williams (Owner/Trainer) once wrote in a school project as an 8-year old that her dream was to be a horse trainer and riding instructor. It took a series of interesting events and a pandemic to lead her back to that childhood dream. As a lifelong horsewoman and avid competitor, Stephanie has always had horses as a part of her life. Her experience as a business owner, educator, and entrepreneur in combination with her riding and training skills have led to the success of the Clover Luck Stables venture.
A horse girl's dream.
Matthew Carroll actually never pictured living his life alongside horses, but now that he's here, he wouldn't have it any other way. With over 15 years of professional management experience, Matthew is well-respected in the world of wine, both as a sommelier and a sales manager with Skurnik Wine Importers. With past lives as a crisis counselor, professional musician, and music educator, Matthew is true renaissance man who understands the value of making hard work enjoyable. He can often be found driving his tractor around the farm and spoiling the horses with treats.
